This is a two day course with a City & Guilds (NPTC) assessment on the third day. This course covers the techniques required to be able to deal with windblown stems which are still attached to the root plate. Prior to assessment in CS34, candidates must achieve units CS30, CS31 and CS32.
During the course candidates will cover:
- Health & Safety requirements, including current legislation, PPE,safe operation, and Risk Assessments
- Sever windblown or otherwise uprooted trees, both under and over effective guide bar length in diameter.
- Restrain overhanging (forward weighted) root plates prior to severing stems.
- Using a hand winch to assist with felling, or restrain root plates.
