CS39 holders – one day course with a City & Guilds (NPTC) assessment on the second day.
CS31 holders – two day course with a City & Guilds (NPTC) assessment on the third day.
This course is designed to teach the candidate how to maintain and service the machine on a day-to-day basis. Prior to assessment in CS47, candidates must achieve Units CS30, CS31, MEWP operation and CS39.
The course also covers:
- Health & Safety requirements, including current legislation, PPE, Risk Assessments and safe operation are also covered.
- Gaining good safe work positions.
- Different techniques taught to be able to remove branches without damaging objects below.
- Pruning cuts explained.
- Vertical sections removed.
- The use and operation of either a top handled or ground chainsaw from a MEWP. (Candidates must hold CS39 in order to use a top handled saw)
